Anyway, putting up the promo for a workshop I will be teaching in October in Gurabo, Puerto Rico at the Turabo University Museum.

Hope to see you in Philly, Marina

Two Year Old Polymer Slices

Fresh from the oven, well, not really.

This is one of my new brooches made of Polymer Clay. The textured Mokume Gane part on the left was made from some scrap pieces I had saved from a workshop I took two years ago with Julie Picarello. The other day someone at the Polymer Clay Collective Group on Facebook was asking if you could put the clay away and use it latter- well, here is a practical demonstration.

What I mostly like about the piece are the textures. The very matte rugged right side under the silky sheen of the round form that butt against the shinny Mokume Gane half moon form. They seem to be having a silent conversation to see which one speaks the loudest.

Have You Met Design Seeds?

Image

I discovered Design Seeds about a year ago and I was automatically hooked. For us “color lovers” this site is a MUST. They use fabulous photos to create color pallets that are just stunning. I use them for all sorts of inspiration in my design work and when I am mentally working on a color combinations for my polymer beads. Check them out, you will not regret it!

Have a great day, Marina

New Blog!

Hi everyone, this is the first entry on my new blog and quite frankly I am a little nervous. There is something about starting something from scratch that just freaks me out. It’s like having a new journal, one of those nice ones with the shinny printed cover and all the BLANK pages inside just waiting for you to write your most intimate thoughts. Someone once told me to start the journal from the back towards the front and actually it does help, but, I cant seem to figure out how to do that with a blog so here goes.

As the name of the blog suggests I love anything color, so chances are you will be seeing and reading a lot about that. Also I love to make jewelry among other “stuff”. I hope you enjoy the visit.
